Jean was a much loved friend to me as well as being Samantha Lysaught's Mum, and so we met up on this sad occasion. When Samantha spoke at the Ceremony, her manner was to talk naturally and reassuringly and to remind the grandchildren (and adults) that it was sad, but how wonderful Grandma had been. She encouraged us to share memories of the times that we all had spent with Jean over the many years we had known her. As a result positive warm thoughts were taken home to cherish as opposed to gut wrenching grief and tear soaked handkerchiefs. She has a natural empathy with people especially in situations like this. As to the Ceremony - she had this amazing approach to what essentially is a sad and emotional time. It was simple, direct, dignified, compassionate, uplifting, warm - sometimes funny - a truly lovely farewell to someone so special. The best recommendation I can give this young person is that I shall use her to conduct the service when my own mother passes over.
I wish her well in her chosen profession - she is ideally suited. V-J Townsend.

Samantha was the Celebrant at my husband's funeral. I was so pleased with the tender way in which the whole service was conducted. Sam showed such feeling with her readings and also gave the ceremony a touch of humour which was something I really wanted. My husband had a great sense of fun and to just have been able to combine both was a real blessing to myself and my two sons. Everyone I have spoken to since the service has commented on just how well Sam conducted the service. I will be eternally grateful to her for making such an overwhelming day so much easier to cope with.
