Naming Days are chosen as an
alternative to the traditional christening
that is performed by a member of the
clergy in a Church. Naming Days are
chosen mainly so the child may grow
up and choose their own religion they
wish to follow. It is still a very
significant ceremony and a time where
Godparents or Mentors can be
appointed. There is an increasing trend
to have combined First Birthday and
Naming Celebrations.
